Chemical Free Iron Removal System - KFI

Highly efficient chemical free technology

KFI filters use no chemicals in the process of cleaning the water. The technology makes our filters almost maintenance free too. Because no chemicals are used during the working cycle of the unit, the user is not exposed to dangerous chemicals which is the case with competitive systems. Under severe water conditions when the pH is below 7 and when the manganese concentration is high the user will be required to replenish the pH adjusting natural mineral KF-pH.

Fully automatic

The iron removal systems are fully automatic. The backwash frequency is adjusted at the time of installation with regard to the degree of water contamination and daily water usage. The filter backwashes then automatically when it is needed without you even thinking of it. The filter requires that the well pump's capacity is sufficient for the backwash phase (see table below).

Other benefits with Kuna Filter

· totally non-corrosive materials
· eliminates smell, taste and color
· very long equipment life
· eliminates sulphur (up to 4 ppm)
· easy to install

Our chemical free iron removal systems deliver CLEAN WATER to:

· private houses
· farms
· municipal water systems
· small industry
· communities

How the KFI filters work

Iron removal systems from Kuna Group consist of two major components: an air injector (aspirator) and an iron removal filter.

The process of treatment is done in two steps:

· aeration of the incoming water
· oxidation and filtration of precipitated iron

The incoming iron rich water is aerated by the air injector which actually blends oxygen into the water stream. The ionized iron is then oxidized and filtered out. The filtration media works like a semi catalyst and accelerates the process of iron and manganese oxidation. If the row water is acid, it will be rendered neutral by one of the filter bed's components the neutralizing mineral KF-pH. KF pH is a sacrificial mineral which slowly dissolves in acid or aggressive waters. Thanks to the semi catalytic effect the filter is extremely effective in removal of any concentration of iron and manga nese from a water supply. The automatic control valve will periodically backwash the filter media in order to remove any of the filtered contaminants trapped in the filter. The backwashing frequency is adjusted during the installation procedure. The filter bed is not dissolved during filtration.

Easy, natural and convenient

Our KFI iron removal system is virtually maintenance and chemical free thanks to the semi catalytic filter media which accelerates the iron oxidation. The filter itself and the technology behind it has enabled us to deliver an iron removal system which uses Nature's own forces to purify iron and manganese contaminated waters.
If the row water's pH is above 7.5 the filter is totally maintenance free!
If the filter is installed and put into operation according to our instructions then it will function problem free and without harmful chemicals for many years to come. It is also worth noticing that KFI filters can be installed both on private well and municipal water supplies.

Flexible

At severe water conditions Kuna Group AB can individually adjust the filter media for best function, this service doesn't cost any extra but you have to supply a recently made water analysis. Our systems are delivered fully automatic and complete wit filter tank, control valve, media, injector and bypass valve.

Working pressure for allfilters: 2 - 9 bar. Max. working temperature: 38°C.
Continous flow means water usage 24 h per day. Max. flow rate intended for duration of 15 minutes or less.
Backwash flow required gives you the lowest pumping rate that well pump or well must have in order for the filter to function properly.
