The CoreStates Center was in the middle of 1998 renamed to First Union Center.

Eight years ago Flyers chairman had a dream. He wanted to build a new arena for Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers. That dream came through in 1995 when the arena was ready. The name of the arena is CoreStates Center.

The CoreStates Complex consists of the CoreStates Spectrum and the new, CoreStates Center. The two arenas are next to eachother on South broad street.

CoreStates Center and the old arena Spectrum have something for everyone. Flyers, Phantoms, 76ers, Wing lacrosse, KiXX indoor soccer, Bulldogs roller hockey, LaSalle and Villanova college baseball, Atlantic 10 men`s Basketball, Walt Disney`s world on Ice are all a part of CoreStates Center.

CSC has taken over CoreStates Spectrumīs tradions as one of Americaīs most poular arena. CoreStates Center arrange about 330 events a year. The events will bring over 3 000 000 persons to CSC. There are five floors of seats, more then 1000 luxury boxes and club boxes. There are also Restaurants and a brewery.

CSC is defenitly one of the worldīs best arenas. The capacity is about 19 500 persons. There are a huge "Flyers shop" in CSC where you can buy a lot of Flyers stuff.

General facts:

The CoreStates Center has 2,000 more seats and is more than 300,000 square feet larger than the CoreStates Spectrum.
The CoreStates Center has 30 concession stands on two levels and 20 public restroom facilities.
The CoreStates Center is an obstruction-free arena for all events.
Six public escalators and six available elevators.
23 ticket windows provide quick on convenient service.
