Ex-Pearl Jam Drummer Working With Guns N' Roses?

Sources close to Dave Abbruzzese say the former Pearl Jam drummer is recording with Guns N' Roses. Abbruzzese reportedly flew to Los Angeles from Seattle last week to work on the project. He had left Pearl Jam abruptly in the summer of 1994 just prior to the release of their album Vitalogy. Since 1995, Abbruzzese has been primarily working with the funk- oriented Green Romance Orchestra. The presence of Abbruzzese may ease the minds of agitated fans who were upset over false reports that former Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna had joined the band and that Guns N' Roses were recording electronic- oriented sessions under the auspices of techno whiz Moby.

The GNR management company, Big FD, have denied that drummer Matt Sorum was no longer with Guns N' Roses and Vrenna himself denied the reports that he and his former Nine Inch Nails bandmate guitarist Robin Finck were working with GNR. Vrenna told press sources that he's only "met" with Guns N' Roses, and that Finck has only jammed with the band. A rep at Geffen Records denied all knowledge of Abbruzzese's involvement.
