OVERVIEW
More of a hodge-podge collection of cards
than a bonefide deck, I think that this qualifies as another
just plain fun deck. Although your early game will be easier
with Rand I, Rand III would probably be more effective in the
long run (at least until he's replaced). The same goes for The
Dragon Revealed: he's easier to play than Rand the King, but
Rand the King would be a better match for this deck. Regardless,
the fun of this deck will be seeing the look on your opponents
face when you play Patrol and Fortress of Light. The odds are
desperately against your opponent playing Children of the Light,
so you can just use Patrol to keep adding tokens to that advantage
(or trying to, since they can't participate with any Dragon characters
or troops in a challenge).
The real benefit of Fortress of Light is
that for each other Nation you control, you gain a Pattern token
for free. Also, if your opponent likes OP events, he will find
them a bit more difficult to pull off. The same thing will apply
to Andor and Tear... unless your opponent has the correct allegiance,
he can't participate. But how can you participate in Tear? You
don't have too. Declare it as your challenge, win the Pattern,
and Momentum gives you the necessary two support. Once you get
the first one, you'll get one automatically each turn, and always
have Dominance. Get all three, and you get two free Pattern tokens,
automatic Dominance, some safety from OP events, and the ability
to roll your Andoran's Politics in the Last Battle once you play
Caemlyn. Since Politics is tied for highest probability of Support/Opposition,
this should help nicely, especially with The Way of the Leaf
on your Andoran characters.
Andor has the best characters to use for
Rand I, and with Caemlyn in play will be the only characters
in the game that can play Politics in the Last Battle. If you
use Rand III or Rand the King, Rand will also be able to roll
his Politics as he will then have the Andor allegiance. Use your
Lucky Find to get the nations out quickly, and you should very
quickly be able to replace Mat, Perrin, and Rand (with the Dragon
Revealed), and play Morgase. You may have a little longer wait
to replace Rand with Rand the King, but either way, you should
go into the Last Battle with a very high likelihood of winning.
Total: 50 cards; 4 Opening
hand, 46 deck.
