Were their presence in the towns mentioned in any history literature of these towns? Other sources?

Where did the officers live? Hosts? Addresses?

Do any "history or genealogical societies" have any information? 

How did they march or travel?

How did they live their lives during the time as prisoners?

How was the relationship between the prisoners and the inhabitants of the towns?
