Kittys Kaboodle goes west 1999

Visitors so far:

It's time to go west again to face the rain and wind and the fantastic courses around Killarney (County of Kerry) in Ireland. The scheduled date for the trip is: 1999-04-08 to 1999-04-11 (arrival on 1999-04-07).

killeen.jpg (12805 bytes)As usual we will stay with Mike and Geraldine in the faboulus Killeen House, just outside Killarney.

For those who has not been there before it can be described as a hotel for golfers first and last. The food is excellent and there is Guiness in the bar. If you can give Mike (the Hotel Owner) a ball that he does not already have, he will give you a guiness for it.

Not exactly the average golf course. Let's hope for descent weather. This course is relatively new but will probably be ranked among the very best.

Softspikes only.

Day 4, 1999-04-11, Beaufort, Tee Time: 11.40

The only course on this trip with a reasonable greenfee. 36 holes can be played.

This day there is also another competition. The bar bills has to be settled and last years bar-bill winner Ingvar will fight hard to keep his title. There is a roumor that he has asked Mike to get some extra expensive Whiskey and hide in a corner for Ingvar.

There might also be a competition about putting between your own legs.

THE TRAVEL PART

The easiest and cheapest way to get there is to fly via London to Cork, with Ryan Air.

You can also fly with SAS at 07.00 AM, arriving at 10.00 to Dublin. From Dublin to Killarney it is a 3-4 hour drive and last year some of us took this flight and played a course on the way to Killarney.

A car is absolutely necessary to survive so it is recommended to rent one at the airport.

You should arrive to the hotel on the Wednesday evening, 1999-04-07.

KOORDINATE THE CARS

Please try to coordinate the cars to save some money (this trip will be expensive enough anyway).

Misc

BEER

In IRELAND we will drink Guiness. Possibly Caffreys.

WHISKEY

is spelled in a funny way in Ireland, and it is a little milder than in Scotland.

Prices

The whole trip will be arranged as a charter trip.

The price will be 5,825 SEK which includes greenfee, hotel, Lillens speaches, a two course dinner every day and breakfast the last day. The price is the same no matter what room you wake up in.

This somwhat more expensive than last years trip but there are more expensive courses included this time.

Ingvar (the reiseleiter) will need to put up a deposition to some of the golf clubs and he therefore wants you to pay him 2000 SEK in advance. Please call him on 08-99 15 59 (evenings). He will be needing the money no later than week 9.

Please bring some Price Stuff for the competitions. Prices such as Watches, Diamonds, T-shirts etc. are welcome.
