European Championship for nations all-time table 1960-2012

This all-time table includes the final tournaments as well as the qualification for the European Championships for nations since its unofficial inaugaration in 1960. Note that wins and losses in penalty shoot-outs are counted as such in the table. But, the goaldifference is counted after extra-time, thus the penalty shoot-out penalties are not counted in the goaldifferences of the countries concerned. Three points for a win was installed 1996. The table has been compiled through reliable sources. Thanks to the RSSSF for additional information. There are three tables here: 1. Finals and qualifying, 2. Finals, 3. Qualifying. You are free to copy this document in a non-commercial capacity but please state the source, i.e. Clas Glenning. 2012 tournament including finals are included.

Serbia and Montenegro include results by Yugoslavia. Soviet Union include results by CIS. 1968 qualifying: The abandoned game Austria vs. Greece (1-1) is counted here. 1968: In the semifinal vs. Soviet Union Italy progressed after a cointoss. I consider this game a draw as the game wasn't decided by standard football tiebreakers (i.e. extra time or penalty kicks). 1988 qualifying: The first game between Netherlands and Cyprus (8-0) is counted here as it was actually played. The games between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the qualification for Euro 2008 was cancelled by UEFA as the countries involved could not decide on appropriate venues for the encounters between them. The game between Denmark and Sweden in the qualification for Euro 2008 was abandoned in the 89th minute - with the score 3-3 and Sweden awarded a penalty - after a Danish member of the crowd attacked the referee. The game was set to 0-3 by UEFA decision. 2012 qualifying: The game Italy vs. Serbia was halted after ”fans” of the latter had caused disturbances. It was later set to 3-0 by UEFA decision.
