101. Stellungs-Werfer Regiment
In January the regiment was formed from three separate battalions (101, 102 and 103) which had been raised in October 1943.1
The regiment had three battalions, each with three batteries. All batteries were equipped with six rocket launchers for a total of 54 launchers in th regiment.2 Despite the name of the unit its batteries were motorized.3
On 5 June the regiment had the I. Abteilung located east of Valognes, near the coast, while the other two Abteilungen were found WSW of Cherbourg.4
The regiment was among the units surrounded in Cherbourg.5 It was destroyed when Cherbourg fell and was never rebuilt.
