I have not decided if I should proceed to publish Volvo news here so here are the lates "old" news.

Before the chairholders had said their point off view in the Ford/Volvo deal the both carmanufactorers are already thinking of building cars together or at least Ford is thinking of building a SUV with the Volvo logo on it. According to sources at Detroit Ford is on it´s way of building the biggest SUV on the market. According to the sources this SUV will be 30% larger than the current largest SUV:s and this will solve in a truck that has a total length of  7 meters.

This is the replacement to the S70 car and will arrive in the end of year 2000. The car will use the same engine as the current S70. You can easilly see where the features where taken from, the ECC or the currunt S80. Info from Shimon.

Here is another picture of what may come from Volvo. As said before the car will probably be built with cooperation with Mitsubishi as they   have long experience of producing terrain cars.

In the march Volvo will present a new diesel engine for the S/V40 cars it will get the new name 1.9D. (The same as the S/V70 cars I think...) The car will have 95 hp and only consume 5,6 liters per 100 km, this will give the car a range of approx 1000 km. What can we expect from the upcoming 6-cylinder engine from Volvo? (Picture TV)
